To other truckers for werner
Werner trucking... WOW
Werner has screwed me from getting a job!!!
A wife's perspective - Werner
My husband started w/Werner in May 2009. He had a great trainer.Thank goodness because he had to stay on the truck with him or in a flea bag motel when the trainer was on home time for 3 months - he got his 300 hours in but had to stay w/trainer until he was assigned a truck if he wanted his $500 signing bonus.
He got his truck and was assigned a load right away and had to drive 2 more wks before getting home time. He has to fight to get home even though he puts in his home requsts the day he goes back out (2 - 3 weeks early). He will never be able to get home weekly. He has had to sit along the road for up to 5 hours waiting for maintainance to come out, he has loads taken away from him while he waits for a trailer because one dispatcher tells him to bobtail and the next says you should not do that,he no longer calls in to dispatch because of this, everything s/be put on the qualcom so its in writing and even that is chancey.
As a wife, the trucking industry is just as tough! Your husband is gone. You have to make all repairs to the house/cars, take care of the kids, make all decisions, run all the errands, take care of your personal needs, and in general live life on your own.
Sure you can talk on the cell phone but it changes you and it changes him. There will be tears - sometimes on both sides. If your marriage isn't strong it won't survive.
Werner LIES,LIES,LIES!!!!!
When my husband applied to Werner he was told he can expect to make about fifty thousand a year after the 6 week training period in which he would make very little. The training period was not 6 weeks it was 12 weeks in which you can expect to make about $300 a week or less.
You are on the road 24/7 and your time off or days off is spent in the cab of the truck with your trainer driving. When your trainer goes home to be with his family they put you up in a roach infested sleezy hotel room for days. My husband got through the training and started the real job. Guess what?
His check is about $400 a week for working about 60 hrs. We are fighting and will probably be divorced over this whole thing. Werner is not honest about what the real deal is and what you really will make. You find that out after you are there.
In our case we could lose our home over this.
How lomg can you go without a real check? I don't know what companies are decent to work for out there, but trust me when I tell you that Werner is as bad as it gets!!!!
Do not trust werner enterprises for employment or proper treatment.
Werner lies, steals, n makes workers slaves
Werner Enterprises took my husband on Nov. 22,2010.
The recruiters promised him $.29/mile while training. I took my husband to the *** hotel in Indianapolis,In and dropped him off w a confirmed date of return in 2 weeks. He was told that he earned 1 day off for every 7 days driven. my husband did not return for 6 weeks.
His 1st trainer stranded him in Mississippi for a week while he took a vacation. When he finally made it home he got 2 days w us and i spent a whole day taking him back n forth from Indy. My husband was then gone for another 6 weeks. Meanwhile he was only getting paid 350.00/wk before taxes & insurance.
My husband brought home 160.00/wk. He was told that his training wouldn't last more than 6 wks& it has been 12 wks now. He got great reviews from both of his trainers. When my husband started driving on his own he asked a number of times for a employee handbook& was never given 1.
He drove for Walmart, Dollar General, Dollar Tree on a deducated route. His dispatcher falled 2 tell my husband that he had specific paperwk 2 fill out@ each stop inorder 2 get paid for unloading the truck@ each stop therefore he was working for free. After about the 10th time asking bout his pay his disbatcher said he noticed it but just set it aside. Werner owes my husband 2 grand& still has not paid.
Werner also paid him half of what he was told per mile. We are sueing Werner Enterprises for back wages& damages. Werner is the most dishonest company i have encountered. Working for McDonalds would get you further in life.
The day my husband turned in his truck 143 other drivers did the same for the same reason. Werner Enterprises is the worst company 2 work 4 & unless u want 2 get screwed on a daily basis don't work 4 Werner.
Screwed me out of job
werner came in and bought out Tracker Marine fleet. Promised all the boat haulers a job.
Some had been there 28+ years and had accident free driving records.
After they took over, the top drivers were not kept.will not tell them why even though they sent a letter to the review board! Very unprofessional behavior! Most of them are over 60 years old and probably can't find another job,but cannot retire,so we are basically screwed by Tracker and Werner both!hope they can live with theirselves to do people that way.Werner is a worthless company!!
Angry about Werner Trucking
They wont pay me
I wish I had known before!
I wish I had read the complaints before I started my "training" with Werner Trucking. Lied to about bonus, lied to about hours needed to finish training, not told about having to room with a stranger, didnt pay for my meals (cheap breakfast, *** lunch) I met people at training in Allentown, PA, who were having the same situation.
Werner IS NOT a reputable company, they lie to you to suck you in. Im glad I had the sense to leave after four days of waiting for a trainer. Luckily I was able to have my wife apply online at another trucking company and had a good job lined up for the next week. I feel bad for anyone who has been sucked in by Werner and went through *** and didnt have the opportunity to find something else like I did.
Something I will never forget was meeting a guy at the hotel where I was who has been driving for Werner two years. He failed a physical due to high blood pressure. Because he had his dog with him, he couldnt take the bus home, they abandoned this poor guy there, with no money to get home. He was living in the woods behind the hotel for about 2 weeks until he was able to collect donations from other truckers and sneak in for the breakfast, and living off the ice machine and thats all he ate for the day.
He had to liquidate his stocks that were worth 10,000 and only got 2,000 just so he could get home. I decided I did not want to work for a company that treats their loyal employees that way.
After hearing all the horror stories and reading the posts here, Im so glad I got out when I did, I just wish I had known before I wasted my time with Werner. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH WERNER,RUN, DONT WALK, IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!!!!!!
Screwed by werner
Forget about Werner, Covenant or Swift!!!!
Started with Werner at the end of February '09. For your orientation they shove you into a room, with some other driver you don't know, at the "luxurious" hotel they use in Lakeland. You get breakfast both days....toast or muffin or bagel and juice, just watch out for the roach ***. You get picked up in the company shuttle..."broken down van"....by the injured driver..."smelled like Old Milwaukee"... who as been with the company all of 6 weeks. Spend 12 hours filling out paperwork and taking *** little tests and listening to a woman who was a "long time driver who wanted to help teach the new drivers"....***!!! You also get a little sales pitch from the fleet sales guy, just so they can try and *** a little more. Reminded me of a gangster film...."what a grese ball".
They give you and the other 20 or so drivers lunch...."2" slices of pizza and nothing to drink. You get to fight for a seat on the van back to the hotel and do it all over again the second day.
If you are lucky, like me, your trainer will call the second night. If not you could be at the hotel for a while....at least a week waiting to be picked up.
I went in on a Monday and was picked up 6 am Wednesday to head out. My trainer was nice enough and had been driving for ten years. I drove all day every day and completed the 300+ hours in a little over a month. Problem was, he was a dedicated driver and was home every weekend and I was stuck in a hotel on the weekend....which Werner stopped paying for the last week I was out.
I showered every day and I ate every day and didn't have any problems with the trainer...I'm one of the few like that. One of the guys I was in cdl training with started 2 weeks before me and was still about 50 hours shy when I finished. He has since gone through 3 partners. My trainer has since quit and a woman I was in cdl training with was kicked out of her truck in Arizona and left there for 2 weeks in a hotel....by WERNER!!!!!.... before she was picked up by a new trainer.
The best part of all this, I was told they were not testing when I finished training and that I would have to go out another 6 weeks with a new trainer.
They tell everyone the same thing. And yes, they have brand new units in Dallas, Atlanta and Omaha.
I told them to kiss my *** and give me a truck. Still haven't heard from them and its been 3 months. I'm not holding my breath over it either. I know a guy who drove for Werner for over a year. He got laid off in January and then they hired a new boatload of drivers....if I had known, I wouldn't have bothered, and neither should you. They get funding from the government to train you and they want to pay a daily rate and pocket the rest, why oh why didn't I think of that?
Don't bother with COVENANT or SWIFT either. Both of them run the same way. As a matter of fact, Swift was investigated by the DOT for having drivers who didn't pass their driving exams....gotta love it. You know Swift does stand for...Shore Wish I Finished Training.
!!!!!!!!!!DO NOT SIGN ON WITH WERNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats as simple as I can put it. Just look at the other reviews. We can't all be wrong.
Drug testing a joke
i was out on the road with werner went home for family emergecy because my wife was sick was home for 2 days and all the sudden they said i had been home for to long and pulled a drug test on me than all the sudden i tested possitive but yet my drug test traveled 3400 mile across the country first stop in tenn and next in ne and in all the mix up the drug tests were droped and i was told they labeled them the way they wanted but yet they did not call anyone of us in for redrug testing when i should have had that oppertunity
LIARS LIARS PANTS ON FIRE!!!!!!!

Werner sux !!! As a student driver they will work you 24/7 team style in a 62 m.p.h.governed truck that won't idle and pay you little more than the perdium pay they suckered you into taking.
In other words, It costs Werner nothing to have you drive their truck till the wheels fall off and you sit or quit. Sad but true !!!
Glad i own my own truck :zzz
Stay outta the truck stops and turn them wheels, thatll solve your money issues driver. all these companies have frieght you just have to prove yourself
I was given my first load to Iowa , cool then got pulled back to Atlanta told my second drug test was a failure and what was I doing driving
knowing that I was a user ! I sat in Atlanta for 3 days before they realized that it was someone else with one number different employee number ! So I go back out to wher my truck was supposed to be and my stuff was thrown out in the rain !They gave my truck to someone else !So I rent a car and head home , Werner can Kiss my ***
Obviously you weren't trained to write well. :?
I trained on the Budweiser account and Walmart account, so I only learned Indiana, Michigan and Ohio..after I completed training they sent me home, said they had no work for me?..2/08..called sdm twice a week for a month and on the last week, sdm put me on hold and then said...well ur going 48, if ur not down to indie by 5pm tommorw ur considered a quit..WTF...So I made it down there, got a pos used and abused century....got my first load as a solo, and to where...CHICAGO...I was scared as ***...any way, I survived my first run..second run after that was a hazmat to new jersey!....I made it, I don't know how, but I did..remember I only been in 3 diffrent states my whole life and got thrown into that *** blind folded..for about a year I ran solo training myself as I went..broke, no money, starving, loosing my home, here I do hazmat and Canada for these guys and get what?..treated like a pos, and broke!....I decided to start teaming and that seems to be the only way to make any kind of decent money with these guys...what I also have learned talking to other drivers...it don't matter who u start off driving for, they are all the same...do what u can, stick it out and get ur two years in accident free and doors WILL open..
